Thelma Stansbury Blake

Thelma Stansbury Blake of Blue Bell, PA formerly of Aberdeen, MD passed away on Saturday, April 6 at her daughter's home in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Born in Havre de Grace, MD she was the daughter of the late Charles Albert and Helen (Bond) Stansbury and wife of the late James Blake and late Russell S. Wilson.

Mrs. Blake retired from the Sears, Roebuck Company. In her early years she was a very active member of the United Methodist Church of Swan Creek, where she was one of the first two female Acolytes. She was also regarded as one of Philadelphia's top five models. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and being active in her local community. She was known to family and friends as being a very sweet, giving and kind person and a true and trusted friend.

She is survived by her daughters; Lois L. Young of Flourtown, PA and Dr. Pamela B. Coleman (John) of Port St. Lucie, FL; siblings, Constance Watters of Havre de Grace, MD and Edmund Stansbury (Seta) of El Paso, TX. She is also survived by two bonus children, Blair Wilson (Dee), and Paulette Howard (Jerry); six grandchildren, Edward (Kristin), Glenn (Christa), Kenneth (Deirdre) Sumpter, James S. II, Vanessa Nicole and Jason Alexander (Morgan) Blake. Seven bonus grands: Sam, Margret, Heather, Kiana, Blair Jr., Karlton, Kamarin and several great grands. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased in death by her son, James Stansbury Blake and her siblings, Mildred Wainwright (Steve) and Earl Stansbury.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 15 from 6pm-8pm at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home and on Tuesday, April 16 from 10am-11am at the Union Methodist Church Swan Creek where a funeral service will begin at 11:00am.
