James Taylor Obituary

James Marcellus Taylor, 75

James Marcellus Taylor, 75, formerly of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 26, 2014. He was born and raised in Boundbrook, New Jersey, the son of Lillian and James M. Taylor. He was preceded in death by his two daughters Jeanette and Artia Taylor.

Jim proudly served in the Navy as an air traffic controller. He went on to pursue a career in the building industry, specializing in the laying of airport runways and later retired to Arkansas. He was a competitive body builder and power lifter, winning numerous awards, including Mr. USA and VA State Masters Power-lifting Champion. He was an avid fly-fisherman and there wasn't a river he wouldn't cast a lure if given the chance. He was happiest wading in the middle of a trout river.

He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Stephanie Taylor, his daughter, Kymberly Taylor of Virginia Beach, Virginia, daughter, Valerie Murphy of Raleigh, North Carolina, his sister, Paula Bivens of Minnesota and family, his grandson, Stuart Taylor of Avon, North Carolina and granddaughter, Kea Turner of Raleigh, North Carolina.

His daughter Kym expresses her gratitude to Stephanie for the wonderful love given to her father through the years.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences can be made to the family at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com

In lieu of flowers gifts of remembrance can be made to Life Net Health Foundation in memory of "James Marcellus Taylor".
