MILFORD - Dorothy "Dottie" May Mills passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
Dorothy was born in Milford to the late Jacob and Hilda Stormer. She was a homemaker and mother to all. She especially loved babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her favorite activities were spending time with family and friends, reading the newspaper with her morning coffee, watching golf and listening to country music. She will always be known for her loving, honesty and stubborn demeanor, her unshaken faith, and strong political views. Dorothy has truly blessed everyone that had the honors of knowing her and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Mills; son, Kenneth Mills; son-in-law, Fred Golden; daughter-in-law, Christine Mills; several brothers and sisters-in-law.
She is survived by her children, Gilbert J. Mills (Shirley), Linda Golden, Michael Mills and Craig Mills (Robin); sisters-in-law, Kay Willey of Milton, Joyce Macklin (Charles) and Ruth Ann Mills of Clayton; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 12:00 noon. Interment will be held in Slaughter Neck Cemetery, Milford. As required by revised mandate during the pandemic, masks will be required for the health and safety of the family and those in attendance.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
