John S. Snow, 68
HENDERSON, MD - John S. Snow passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
John was born in Wilmington, DE to George and Ella Mae (Holding) Snow and was a longtime resident of Smyrna, DE. Growing up John was known for working with his hands and had a knack for fixing machines, working on cars, and woodworking. He followed this passion and started his career at Chrysler in Newark, DE helping to build various cars and trucks on the assembly line until his retirement in 2007.
John loved to go fishing and taught all of his kids at a young age the basics, instilling in them that same love. There are many fond memories with him and a pole in the water or retelling a story of that time he caught the big one. John loved to dance and could often be found in the dance hall in his younger years with the love of his life and longtime girlfriend of 18 years, Patricia Coleman.
John was preceded in death by his father, George Snow; mother, Ella Mae Snow; brothers, George Snow, Howard Snow, Billy Snow, and Harry Snow; sister, Ella Mae Sparks; partner of 8 years, Delores Ridgeway; and granddaughter, LaMia Heath.
John was a loving father and will be greatly missed by his children, Theresa (Steve) Heath, Michael (Monica) Snow, John (Tamera) Snow, and Samantha (Sarah) Snow; seven grandchildren, Kayla Rogers, Selena Heath, Brionna Heath, Mason Snow, Madison Snow, Morgan Snow, and Michael Snow; and one great-grandchild, Arianna Heath. In addition, John was greatly loved as a stepfather/step-grandfather and will be sorely missed by Tina Ferriero, Virginia (Joshua) Stap, Ariel Stap, Joshua Stap, and Andy Stap. He is also survived by his brothers, Earl Snow, Charles Snow, Roy Snow, and Joe Snow; and a number of nieces, nephews, in laws, friends, and other family.
In respect of his wishes, we will not hold a traditional viewing or burial. If you'd like to pay your respects to the family and share your memories of this amazing man, please join us at Pratt Farm Lodge (587 Smyrna Leipsic Rd., Smyrna, DE) on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 2:30-5:30 pm for a Celebration of Life.
