Rosemary "Rosie" Isley passed away Tuesday Jan. 1, 2019 in OhioHealth Mansfield hospital. She was 67.
She was born Feb. 8, 1951 in Beatrice to parents George & Wilma (Girl) Bernhardt.
Rosie began a pen-pal relationship with Carl Isley, writing from Nebraska to Ohio. After corresponding for a year, Carl drove to Nebraska to finally meet Rosie. They married on their 4th face to face meeting and together spent 46 years of enjoying life together raising their family of two sons.
Rosemary had worked at Deca Manufacturing in Lexington.
In spare time, she took pleasure in shopping and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Bradley E. Isley (Liz Bryant) of Mansfield and Shaun J. (Belinda) Isley of Mansfield; grandsons Tyler Isley, Eliah Isley, Dylan Maffett; great-grandson Greyson Isley; extended family Jamie Isley, her loved fur baby cat Mandy; siblings, Lyle & Joan Bernhardt of Beatrice, Nebraska, Richard & Doris Bernhardt of Yankton, South Dakota, Dennis Bernhardt of Beatrice, Nebraska, and Janice Bernhardt-Lamberti of Beatrice, Nebraska; nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law David and Jeanie Isley of Galion, Beverly and Mike Ryder of Mansfield, Alan Isley of Mansfield and Emily Isley of Mansfield.
Rosie was preceded in death by parents George & Wilma (Girl) Bernhardt and brother Larry Bernhardt.
The Isley family will receive friends 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where a memorial service honoring Rosie's life will begin immediately at 12 p.m. Pastor Donna Mills will speak.
Contributions in her memory may be made at the funeral. Please, make checks payable to the Kidney Foundation of Ohio.
