Rosetta S. Swarthout
October 14, 1941 - March 2, 2024
Rosetta S. Swarthout, 82, of Lincoln formerly of Beatrice passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at her home. She was born October 14, 1941 in Beatrice to Jurgen and Emma Ideus.
Rosetta was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran church near Pickrell. She married AlbertSwarthout in 1962 at Emmanuel Lutheran in rural Beatrice. They had three children and moved to Hildreth in 1972 until Albert's passing in 1989.
Rosetta held many job positions in her career with her most memorable being a candy striper caring for babies, caregiver at several institutions and mentor to mentally handicapped adults. She loved cooking, baking and spent many hours thumbing through cookbooks. She enjoyed gardening, canning, antiquing and spending as much time as possible with her grandson.
Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Anderson of Niangua, MO, Brenda (Monte) Conrad of Lincoln; grandson, Garret Conrad of Lincoln; sisters, RoJane Wolken, Roberta (Jack) Corey and Rosann (Jerald) Corey all of Beatrice; brother, Edward (Karen) Ideus of Beatrice; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert; daughter, Shelly Schuldt; parents, Jurgen and Emma Ideus; brothers, George (Velma) Ideus, Bill (Leona) Ideus and Wilfred (Eleanor) Ideus; mother-in-law, Lorene Swarthout; and brother-in-law, Lester Wolken.
Funeral services will be will at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor Kathee Forrest officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
