Katie Wing Obituary

Katie Wing, 93, of Beaumont passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Village Creek Rehabilitation Center in Lumberton. She was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana; born on September 9, 1914 to parents Frank Fazande and Chloe Johnson Fazande. She moved to Beaumont when she was 18 years old and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She loved going to the casino every chance she could. Honey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Johnnie Pop Wing, Sr., one brother, and two sisters. Her survivors include sons, Johnnie Wing, Jr. and his wife Sue of Lumberton, Rodney Wing of Beaumont; grandchildren, Kevin Wing and his wife Paige, Wendy Eaves and her husband Tommy, Johnna Wing, Stacey Andrus and her husband Andy, Craig Wing and his wife Sarah, and ten great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius X on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 10 a.m., with Rev. R. Faller officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christus St. Elizabeth Mamie McFaddin Ward Cancer Center in the memory of Honey Katie Wing.
