Ellen Bruns

Ellen Marie Bruns, 60, of Wood River, Ill., born January 13, 1957, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, peacefully with her family at her bedside.

Ellen was an Advocate for a Woman's Shelter in Madison County who was selfless and would always be there to help others, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing with her dog princess, tending to her many potted plants and tomatoes. Ellen was a former co-owner of E & J Printing in O'Fallon and a hard core St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Pauline, nee Burford, Cullipher; two sisters, Ann Cullipher and Shirley Cullipher; and a brother, Kenny Cullipher.

She is survived by her children, John Bruns of New Baden, Ill., Jason (Heather) Bruns of O'Fallon, Ill., and Kristin (Bobbi) Yonker of Wood River, Ill.; sister, Linda (Al) Powers of New Baden, Ill.; two brothers, Bob (Diane) Cullipher of Belleville, Ill., and David (Susan) Cullipher of Granville, Ill.; four grandchildren, Morgan Bruns, Brogan Yonker, Beckham Yonker, and Hazel Bruns; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at Schildknecht Funeral Home 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O'Fallon, Ill. The O'Fallon Fire Department will provide their respects at 7 p.m. with a walk- through.

Funeral: A Celebration of Life services will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Schildknecht Funeral Home, O'Fallon, Ill., with Chaplain Scott Adkins officiating.
