Gladys Koishor Obituary
Gladys Koishor, 89, of Granite City, Ill., born on Jan. 6, 1924, in Madison, Ill., passed away on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Relais Bonne Eau in Edwardsville, Ill., with her loving family by her side.
On Oct. 12, 1946, Gladys Kulasza married Rudy Koishor, the love of her life at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Madison, Ill. Rudy preceded her in death on July 17, 2013. Gladys and Rudy would have celebrated sixty eight years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella, nee Grzybicka, Kulasza; and two brothers, John and Alec Kulasza.
Gladys was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City, Ill. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and her Catholic faith. Gladys had worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital as the coffee shop manager and was a volunteer with the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of Good Sams Travel Club, Airstream Club, Daughters of Isabelle and Ladies Auxiliary at the Knights of Columbus. Gladys enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, traveling and camping. She was also an excellent cook and was famous for her hugs. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren whom she loved and adored. Gladys will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her loving children, Rudy (Terry) Koishor Jr., of Valley City, Ohio, Diane (Al) Hudzik of Columbia, Ill., Barbara (Jim) Miller of Granite City, Ill., and Rich (Sandy) Koishor of Granite City, Ill.; ten dear grandchildren, Jeffrey (Miranda) Koishor, Rebecca (Jason) Minadeo, Timothy (Kristen) Koishor, Elizabeth Hudzik, Matthew (Amber) Hudzik, Andrew (Kaitlin) Miller, Mary Miller, Thomas Miller, Melissa (John) Duncan and Michael Koishor; six adoring great-grandchildren, Noah, Sam and Anna Minadeo, Reese and Claire Koishor and Averie Duncan.
Memorial donations may be given in the form of Masses and will be accepted at the funeral chapel.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Rd. Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: In celebration of her life, a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City, Ill. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
