Joseph R. "Joe" Toon, 60, of Collinsville, Ill., born Feb. 3, 1956, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Barnes Jewish South Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Joe worked for Auffenberg Dealer Group in O'Fallon, Ill. He previously worked in management at the Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, Mo., and Louisville, Ky. He enjoyed riding his Harley and loved being a papa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis T. and Mildred L., nee Richard, Toon; and a sister, Katherine Darlene Barfield.
Surviving are his wife, Patty, nee Barnhill, Toon whom he married on March 19, 1976, at St. Philip Church, East St. Louis, Ill.; two sons and a daughter, Ben (Megan) Toon of O'Fallon, Ill., Ryan Toon of Collinsville, Ill., and Beth (Kris) Reece of Bellville, Ill.; a granddaughter, Ashlyn Toon; a sister, Michelle (Allen) Haugen of Minot, N.D.
Memorials may be made to Mid America Transplant, St. Louis, Mo. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.hakassly.com.
Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with Rev. Jeremy Drake officiating. Mr. Toon's wishes were to be cremated.

I will so miss a special person to my heart, always made my day brighter at my job Auffenberg ford. He was so dear to me and all that worked there. Joe and his wife Patty were always fun to talk with, great son Ben, wife Meagan, such great friends and co worker and precious Ashlyn , had much fun with her. Love you all.

We still can't believe that he's gone. I'll always remember getting to listen to his wit as he painted a friends kitchen. That was a great weekend! Just one example of the many ways that Joe helped others.

Joe was a good man. He was my boss on several occasions during my time with Ford, and I would have gone thru a wall for him. He is missed already
