Ralph Siebert

Ralph D. Siebert, 76, of Lebanon, Ill., born Feb. 18, 1935, in Belleville, Ill., died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at The Quarters at Des Peres in Des Peres, Mo.

Mr. Siebert was a farmer. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. Clair County Farm Bureau and the Midwest Bird and Animal Breeder Association. He was a graduate of Belleville West High School where he was a member of the FFA and 4H Club. He loved his birds and had many different kinds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Stella Rose, nee Valerius, Siebert; and a colleague, Bobby.

Surviving are his two sisters, Bernice (George) Macke of Fairfield Bay, Ark., and Betty Lehr of Swansea, Ill.; nieces and nephews, Woodrow "Neil" Lehr, George A. (Ida Diamond) Macke, Gerald A. (Vicky) Macke, Debra (Tom) Seidelmann, Roger D. (Diana) Macke, and Patricia J. Macke; great nieces and great nephews; and two colleagues, Mark and Terry.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Mercy Hospice and will be received at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hempenfuneralhome.com



Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden, Ill., and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2011, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 123 East Dee Street in Lebanon, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2011, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Lebanon, Ill., with Rev. Dr. Don Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Ill.
