Joseph Merola Obituary
Joseph is survived by his former wife Elizabeth O'Donnell and husband Jack of Ashley Falls, daughter, Michelle Merola of Holyoke, son, Joseph of Great Barrington, one brother, John Merola and wife Barbara of Hudson, two sisters, Iris Peppe and husband Rick of Pittsfield and Suzanne Wool and husband Joe of Great Barrington, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Annette Ferron, and brother, Jeff Merola.
Joe was all about service and helped everyone. He loved AA and was a very active member. He loved cooking, especially his famous carrot cake.
Funeral Services for Joseph W. Merola will be held on Friday December 16 at 11:00 AM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South St. Great Barrington MA with Reverend Tina Rathbone officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday December 15 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at BIRCHES-ROY. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Joseph's memory may be made to the Peoples Pantry in Great Barrington in care of the funeral home or online at https://www.thepeoplespantrygb.org. Condolences may be made through birchesroyfuneralservices.com.

To all the of Joe's family. My sincere condolences about Joe's passing. He was a very good human. One of the kindest people I've known, and that laugh and love of living served as a role model for all to see. I will miss seeing him and always getting a reply when I rode my bike by bhis apartment yelling a hello to which he'd always respond. Hang in there. This too shall passf as you learn to live with his passing but you'll never forget him.
