Patrick Kelly Obituary

The life of Patrick Henley Kelly was tragically cut short by an accident on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.

Patrick, 32 years old, was born in Pittsfield, MA to Donna Herbert Kelly and Dennis Kelly.

He is survived by his mother and her partner, Marc Goldstein; his father and his partner, Gale Dobson; his brother, Andrew; his grandmother, Nancy Herbert Bouteiller, and grandfather, Charles Bouteiller, and his great uncle, Jim Herbert, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Patrick was a Sexton at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Pittsfield, MA.

He will be remembered by a community of friends, co-workers and family for his wit, charm and overall love of life.

As written by dear friends, "He carried a big smile every day, followed his heart, helped every person with whom he crossed paths and nothing but kind words came from his mouth. He was the one who had it all figured out. Thank you Pat Kelly for teaching me what being a great man is all about."

Pat loved a cold beer, the Patriots, taking photographs, swimming, golf, and car races at Lebanon Valley. Pat had the courage to live his life to the fullest. While he knew his limitations, he embraced the wonder of the world and everyone with whom he came in contact.

Pat's life can best be described by a line from Walt Whitman, "I celebrate myself...I exist as I am, that is enough..."

SERVICES: Funeral Services for Pat will be held Tuesday, December 6th, 10:00AM at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Pittsfield, MA. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Lenox. There will be a gathering at Pat's home after the burial. Visiting Hours will be held Monday, December 5th, 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing, may make donations in Pat's honor to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in honor of Pat in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.

My deepest condolences to all of you. I had the great pleasure of getting to know Patrick while he was a student at LMMHS. I have this distinct memory of his giggle. He loved to giggle and laugh. He was also a devoted and hard worker of any task at hand. He showed so many of us how to make the simple things in life count.
Patrick touched so many people in so many ways. I am thankful I had the privilege to known him. There is no doubt his eternal light will shine bright forever.
