Ursula "Todd" Aldre

Ursula ''Todd'' Aldre 1914-2008 PITTSFIELD- Ursula Brunhilde "Todd" Aldre, 93, formerly of Melbourne Place in Pittsfield and of Minneapolis, Minn., died Dec. 11, 2007, at Providence Care Center in Lenox. Born Sept. 3, 1914, in Estonia, she was the daughter of Kustav Rookäär, a forest warden in Kiisa, Pärnumaa, Estonia, and Johanna Saarevet Rookäär. She graduated from high school in Estonia and married Manivald Aldre, a chemist, on Dec. 2, 1933. After immigrating to the U.S. to flee the advancing Russian troops during World War II, the Aldre family settled in Minneapolis. Following her husband's death on Nov. 1, 1958, Mrs. Aldre was employed as loan officer at the Minnesota Federal Bank in Minneapolis until her retirement. She was a member of the Estonian Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. She enjoyed the opera and theatre, gardening, dancing, entertaining, and singing in the church choir, and was always impeccably dressed. She leaves two granddaughters, Katrin Rouse Weir and Tina Irene Rouse, two grandsons-in-law, Louis Weir and Mark Murray, and three great-grandchildren, Anekah, Terrell, and Kalev. She was predeceased by her daughter, Iive Mae Rouse, her son, Mart Aldre, and her son-in-law, Thomas Owen Rouse.
