Helen Marie Nelson of Sparta, Michigan, age 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 27th, 2023. She was born to Guy and Florabell (Wagner) Gould on August 20th, 1928, in Sand Lake, MI.
Helen enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ellen (Jack) Schipper, Alice (Jack) Smith, Nancy Nelson, Harry (Ellen) Nelson, Elaine (Michael) Isenhart; adored grandchildren, Janie, Amy, Tammy, Jason, Andrew, Justin, Jack, April, Ben, Jeremy, Ryan, Melanie, Christopher, Nicholas, Alyssa, Katie, Leah, Lyndsey, Jonathon, Jenny, Rachel, and Erica; and many great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Edward Nelson; siblings, Gailord, Gareld, Bill, John, Dorothy, and Margie.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Fountain View Retirement Village of Grant for their care and compassion towards Helen.
Service officiated by Chaplain Micah Manore, 2pm, Sunday, Dec 3 at Harvest Way Senior Center, 100 Ida Red, Sparta, MI 49345. Luncheon immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to FountainView Retirement Village of Grant, 50 S Maple St, Grant, MI 49327.
