Terry Keith Schuberg

BIG RAPIDS -- Terry Keith Schuberg, 67, of Big Rapids, passed away May 4, 2018, in Grand Rapids.

He was born April 20, 1951, in Big Rapids, the son of Keith and Dorothy (Olson) Schuberg. Terry graduated from Big Rapids High School and worked for his grandfather, Howard Schuberg, which started his career in electrical work. Throughout his working career he owned and operated his own business and later worked on the power lines. He was proud to be a member of the I.B.E.W Local 876.

Terry enjoyed tractors and steam engines, hunting and fishing and loved spending time with family and friends. Terry was a member of the Big Rapids Eagles Aerie No. 2535, Big Rapids AMVETS Post No. 1941 and the Buckley Old Engine Club.

Terry married Sue E. Bonner on Sept.12, 1970, and they made their home in Big Rapids, where they raised their family. Sue preceded Terry in death in 2009 and he married Jo Routley on Dec. 17, 2010 in Big Rapids.

Terry is survived by his wife, Jo Ellen Schuberg, of Big Rapids; children, Holly (Michael) Bartlett, of Tinley Park, Ill., Paula Schuberg, of Grand Rapids, Larry (Lisa) Schuberg, of Hersey, TJ (Lisa) Schuberg, of Big Rapids, and Michael (Jennifer) Schuberg, of Big Rapids; nine grandchildren, James, Christian, Michael, Matthew, Caiden, Caitlyn, Jacob, Cooper and Emma; one great-grandson, Casey; his mom, Dorothy Schuberg, of Paris; siblings, Linda (Dan) Maxwell, Randy Schuberg, Vicky (Chuck) Lyons, Kathy Schuberg, Gale Simon and Becky (Carl Anderson) Schuberg; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his dad, Keith; and grandparents, Howard and Pearl Schuberg, who were instrumental in his life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Terry 's name can be made to the Big Rapids AMVETS Post or the Big Rapids Eagle's, where he was a former officer.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 726 Fuller Ave., Big Rapids. Terry will be laid to rest at Pine Plains Cemetery in Big Rapids following the church service. The family will greet friends from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
