Leonard Dick Obituary

RICHEY - Leonard "Bud " Dick, 81, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at the McCone County Nursing Home in Circle, Mont.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m., in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Richey, with Pastor Vaughn White officiating. Interment will be in the Richey Cemetery with the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Richey entrusted with the arrangements.
Leonard was born on Sept. 19, 1923, in Munich, N.D., the son of Deitrich and Anna (Hoffman) Dick. He was raised and educated in Munich, graduating from Munich High School with the class of 1942. Following his graduation, Bud enlisted in the United States Navy Air Corp, serving during World War II until his honorable discharge in 1946. Following his discharge from the military, Bud returned to Munich, North Dakota, where he farmed. He met Dorothy Unger and they were married on Oct. 11, 1949, in Munich. He and his wife moved to Montana in 1956 to the Richey area, where they continued farming. Leonard's life was centered around farming and he continued that occupation until the time of his death. He was responsible for having drawn the design plans for the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Richey and had served as construction foreman for the church building project. He had also served as an elder and trustee for the church. He enjoyed watching high school sporting events and socializing with his farming friends in the coffee shop. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lewis Dick, and one grandson, Isaac Dick.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of Richey; two sons; Lenny Dick of Richey and Darrel Dick and his wife Dawn of Harlowton; two daughters Colleen Dick of Billings, and Claudia Blight and her husband Paul of South Lake, Texas; nine grandchildren; two sisters Lilah Dick and Wynona Unruh, both of Munich, N.D.; one brother Newton Dick and his wife Eunice of Del Rio, Texas.
