NISLAND, S.D. - Warren Emmet Smith, 66, of Nisland and formerly of Roundup, Mont., passed away Oct. 7, 2013, at the Billings Clinic in Billings, Mont.
Warren was born May 21, 1947, in Roundup to Emmet Austin and Ellen (Iverson) Smith. He earned his degree in agricultural business and was currently working as a farm and ranch manager for the C.M. Coffee family. He had previously worked for many years as a carpenter.
Warren is survived by his wife, Rose Smith of Nisland; daughters, Leah Smith of Denver, Colo., and Jennifer Smith of St. Paul, Minn.; sons, Nick (Melissa) Herman of Nisland, Chad (Amanda) Herman of Gillette, Wyo., and Nathan (Katie) Herman of Nisland; brothers, George (Loris) Smith of Roundup and John (Donna) Smith of Miles City, Mont.; sisters, Merryellen (Harvey) Peterson of Hobson, Mont., Sylvia (Bob) Peterson of Billings, Shawn Jacobson of San Diego, Calif., and Delores Mardell McQuiston of Escondido, Calif., and grandchildren, Nicholas Chaythan Herman, Tanner Cole Herman, Alyssah Faith Herman, Holly Elizabeth Herman, Cody James Herman, Dalton McRae, Dylan McRae and Dorthy Anne Herman.
Warren is preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Smith; nephews, Jim Smith and Brody Shendel, and daughter-in-law Amber Herman.
Graveside services will be held at Pringle Cemetery at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, with Pastor Mark Fuhr officiating.
