Griffert Pfenning Obituary
Griffert Edward Pfenning, age 75, of Amery, Wis., passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at his home.
Griffert was born on June 9, 1941, in Mercer County, to Edward and Erna (Kusmenko) Pfenning. Griffert graduated from Bismarck High School in 1959. In 1960 he was united in marriage to Donna Schroedl. Griffert was a machinist by trade. When he retired, he enjoyed traveling by motorcycle and saw much of the United States that way.
Griffert is survived by his two sons: Mike (Sue) Pfenning, Steve Pfenning; grandchildren: Crystal (Jerry) Miller, Billy (Lizzie) Pfenning, Nathan Wachowiak, Sterling (Catherine) Pfenning, Hannah Pfenning, Bethany (Benjamin) Waldner, Rachel Pfenning, Samuel Pfenning, Rebecca Pfenning, Daniel Pfenning, Sarah Pfenning, and Joseph Pfenning; great-grandchildren: Jared, AJ, Heath, Reid, Amos, Nahum, Sophia, Savanah, Kylee Rae, James, Jana, Mark, Paul, Drake; a special friend, Reta Erickson; his father, Edward Pfenning; a sister, Dianna (Merrill ) Varner; aunts, Laverne Kusmenko, Adeline Pfenning; nieces/nephews, Jeanne (Dan) Senecal, Julie (Fred) Bailey, Rod Ritchey, Shelli (Michael) Jordan; sister-in-law, Arla Ritchey; and great nieces/nephews. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at the Senior Center in Amery, Wis.
