Reinhold Mantz, 83, died Nov. 4, 2003, in a Bismarck hospital, after a short illness. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bismarck Baptist Church, with the Rev. Don Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Boelter-Eastgate Funeral Service, 200 W. Turnpike Ave., Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Reinhold was born Aug. 26, 1920, in McLean County, to Frank and Sophie (Gett) Mantz. He married Alice Wahl on Nov. 11, 1943, at Lincoln Valley, Sheridan County. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. They farmed in the McLean and Sheridan County areas until 1957, when they moved to Bismarck. He worked for Henschel Roofing until he retired. He lost his wife, Alice, in 1990, after taking care of her during her illness.
Reinhold was a member of the Bismarck Baptist Church.
Reinhold is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Sharon (Ron) Jesz and Bonnie Bittermann and his son, Gaylen Mantz, all of Bismarck; his granddaughters, Laurie (Paul Bell) Jesz, Portsmouth, Va., and Valerie (Perry) Rambur, Bismarck; his great-grandchildren, Sam Rambur, Bismarck, and Brooklynn and Devin Jesz, Portsmouth; and his brothers, Robert, McClusky, Henry, Bismarck, and Jake, Sacramento, Calif.
Papa spent many happy hours taking care of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Frank; and his sisters, Emma, Rosie, Sophie and Regina.
He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
