Lt. O'Reilly,
Sir, as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for you years of dedicated service and sacrifice-first for our Country when you served with the USMC in Vietnam and secondly for the citizens of Watertown when you served with the WFD. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF MASSACHUSETTS MARINE CORPS LEAGUE:
Paul:
Please accept our deepest regrets and condolences on the passing of your brother Marine Veteran David O'Reilly.
There is a poem written by a Marine in the Korean War.
It goes like this,
Do not stand by my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds circling in flight.
Do not stand by my grave and cry ...
I am not there. I did not die.
I am a Marine now and always
protecting and serving our
Supreme Father into infinity.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
