Of Hooksett, NH, formerly of Somerville, October 16. Retired Newton Police Detective. Beloved husband of 42 years Shirley L. (Hurst). Father of Paula Bateman of Searcy, AK, Joseph Donahue III of Townsend, Robin Stout of Malden and the late Faron and Cheryl Stout. Son of the late Joseph W. Sr. and Marion E. (McDonald) Donahue. Brother of Marion Anderson of KS and Margaret Cremin and Leo Donahue of Somerville. Grandfather of Eric, Thomas, Matthew, Zachary and Cheryl. Funeral Services will be held for Joe in conjunction with services for his mom, Marion B. Donahue, in the Cota-Struzziero-McKenna Funeral Home, 197 Washington St. SOMERVILLE, on Tuesday, October 19 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4 thru 8 PM. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Donations may be made in Joe's memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place, West, Sixth Floor, Boston, MA 02445. I worked with Joey for fifteen years in the Newton Police Detective Bureau and have many, many fond memories of him. My sincere condolences and prayers are extended to his family and loved ones.
