LEONARD J. DOHERTY

DOHERTY, Leonard J. Age 97 years, of Plymouth, died Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the Plymouth Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was the husband of the late Margaret (McCarthy) Doherty, and the son of the late Neal and Mary (Connolly) Doherty. Raised in Woburn, lived in Milton and Cape Cod. United States Navy Veteran of World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He is survived by his children, Leonard J. Doherty Jr. and his wife Mary Ellen of Ridgefield, CT, Kevin J. Doherty and his wife Marcia Allen of Orleans, Dennis Doherty and his wife Carol of Plymouth, Mary Ellen Roberts and her husband Edwin of Poincianna, FL, Nancy M. Reges and her husband Henry of Ft. Collins, CO. and Eileen M. LaVallee and her husband Joseph of Woburn, his daughter-in-law Cheryl Doherty, his brother Paul Doherty and his wife Marcia and his sister Louise Doherty of Woburn. He also leaves 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Richard Doherty and the brother of the late Neal Doherty, Marion Reil and Marjorie Middleton. His funeral will be held at St. Bonaventure's Church, 803 State Rd., (Manomet) Plymouth on Friday at 10AM. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of Massachusetts, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held in the Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, Plymouth, on Thursday from 4-7PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
