Peter Zeras Obituary
63, died at home with his wife by his side on October 31, 2005, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Zeras joined Milton CAT in 1966 as a machine sales representative and quickly climbed the ranks, ultimately leading the companys sales organization as Vice President until the diagnosis of his illness in the spring of 2004. At that time, he orchestrated a management team transition and continued on as a valuable advisor to the firm. Peter's vision and leadership guided the Milton CAT organization to become Caterpillar's top producing dealer in North America for the last 13 years and in 2004 the company was honored as Caterpillar's number two dealer in the world. Peter's progressive approach to business earned him great respect and influence with Caterpillar's senior management team. As a result, he served on several advisory boards at Caterpillar over the years. Peter was also actively involved in industry and civic associations over the years. He was a member, Director and past President of the New Hampshire Good Roads Association. He also served on the New Hampshire Governors Advisory Board for Highways and Energy. While a resident of the Town of Northfield, New Hampshire, Peter was a member of the Towns Budget Committee, Highway Commission and served on the Towns Board of Selectmen. Peter was a graduate of Concord High School, attended the University of New Hampshire and proudly served in the United States Army and the New Hampshire National Guard. Family members include his wife, Heidi (Shaka) Zeras, two sons, Christopher Zeras of Maitland, Florida, and Peter Todd Zeras, his sister, Victoria Bouchard of Concord, New Hampshire and one granddaughter, Lily Zeras of Maitland, Florida. Services: Calling hours are Friday, November 4th from 4-8pm at Bennett Funeral Home, 3 Church Street, CONCORD, NH. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 5th at 11am at Wesley United Methodist Church, 79 Clinton Street, Concord, NH, followed by a Grave Side service at Blossom Hill Cemetery, 207 North Main Street, Concord, NH.
