PHYLLIS SIMONS

SIMONS, Phyllis (Goldstein) Of Natick, formerly of Framingham, died peacefully on Sunday, January 15th after a long battle with leukemia. She leaves two children, Dena Joy, and her husband Thomas as well as the late Jason Harel. She was the beloved grandmother of Trey Philip and Eden Rose. She also leaves a brother Larry and sister-in-law Dini and nieces and nephews in Hawaii. Important in her life was her former husband Elliott. These family relationships, along with many dear friends, made for a full life. Phyllis was born and raised in Boston with loving parents. She graduated Girls' Latin School and Emerson College in Boston, then practiced speech therapy in both the public and private school systems. Her later working years were at the Wellesley Free Library. Phyllis was active in her communities of Natick and Framingham. She served as a town meeting member in both towns, and took part in other local agencies serving the needs of the community. It was important to her to improve the quality of life for others when the opportunity arose. Contributions in her memory can be made to the Golden Tones Chorus of Wayland MA at www.goldentones.org.
