Wow, I hadn't read this obituary of Uncle Bobby when he passed. I always felt he and I had things in common, but I didn't know we both went to music school in our 30s after an early career in something else. Great to read these details about one of the few other musicians in the family. Glad I got to meet Don when I was in Boston and the three of us went out to lunch.

I have fond memories of Dr Goepfert's fabulous musicianship and encouragement at Anna Maria, where I took piano instruction in the 1980s. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Hello to Don and Bobby's family. This was my uncle Bobby, my dad Edward's cousin. I visited with him and Don some years ago in Boston and had a wonderful lunch with them. I remember connecting with him at family gatherings when I was young. I remember something about him resonated with me. I've grown up to be a professional musician as well.
My thoughts are with you, Don. Thanks for your hospitality during my visit to Boston (I think it was 2002 or 2003...) and thanks to Uncle Bobby for his welcoming energy. May he rest in peace and power.
Love,
Lisa Mischke

Thank you, Dr. Goepfert, for your music, your tutelage, your support and confidence-building, and your passion. You were a remarkable teacher, coach, role model, humanitarian and gentleman. Thank you for the lessons at Anna Maria College and at your home. My sincere sympathy to your family and to Donald. May loving memories of you sustain us all, and help to keep your music and love alive within us, as we also share your legacy with future generations of musicians. "An die Musik"
