Our love and deepest Sympathy to Bill's family during this difficult time. Bill was such a great person and was a pleasure to be around. His ability to listen to people was a gift like many of his other qualities. Always making you feel good. No one will ever be able to take his place singing "5 Golden Rings" which was his part during the Annual Christmas Party. The world lost a truly wonderful person but gained an Angel of Joy. We are sure he is singing away in heaven. Bill will always hold a very special place in our families hearts.
Until we meet again Ol' Man River...... Love forever, Jim, Lynne, and Jimmy Freitas, Angela & Manny Ortiz XOXOXOXOXO

Billy,
The last time we were together was at Jimmy's service. We drove together to Bourne you said "Michael you will be tired of my stories by end of this ride." I never got tired of hearing your stories whether they were funny or sad.

"Dowdy" was a part of the Kaszanek family--Billy, Bobby, Jimmy, and me. He spent many a night having Polish food asking, "What's this?" Eating and loving it. I'll never forget his fondness for ketchup on everything...especially eggs. He was always a welcomed guest who made us all laugh 'til our stomachs hurt. He was with us on a "vacation" to Tewksbury when my mother (who couldn't cook to save her life) made the infamous spaghetti that she threw down the river. Laugh--we all laughed until we cried.
Though it's been many years since we'd seen each other, Dowdy was always in my heart. This is precisely why we make memories that we can hold on to forever.
Peace and blessings to those who grieve his loss.

I knew Billy for many years at my business. He would talk and tell stories that made me laugh non stop. I will miss his words of wisdom that he would give to me all the time. I will miss him he was like family to us.

Sad news. Billy and I were good friends growing up on Mission Hill. He was absolutely one of the funniest and most caring persons I have ever met. We spent a lot of time together whether we were just hanging out, taking late night drives to NYC and back discussing "life",having great fun as a fellow starlight (Or was it Starlighter?) Although I haven't seen him for many years his warmth and friendship still remain in my heart. My condolences to Billy's family.

Billy was a good friend of my brother, Tommy Caulfield. They both loved to play the trombone in the Mission school band. And, how they loved Mr. DiGratzia (sp.). I never think of Billy without it putting a smile on my face, because he was never without a smile. He was such a fun guy. I am so very sorry for your loss. May the peace of God be with all of you.

Billy Dowd, One of the nicest, respectful and funniest guys from Mission Hill.
You installed the front porch rail on my house. It was the beginning of visits from time to time for a cup of coffee and many, many laughs about the early days on "The Hill". Honestly, I would almost lose my breath from all the stories you would share. Haven't seen you in years, but I will always remember you fondly. God Bless you.
