Robert W. Toner

TONER Robert W. “Bob” 55, of Whitman, died Thursday June 26 surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with Glioblastoma, brain cancer. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (O’Donnell) Toner. Born in Boston and raised in the Boston area, he was the son of the late James and Phyllis (Rintone) Toner. He had been a resident of East Weymouth for 5 years prior to his move to Whitman where he resided for the past 12 years. Robert had been a proud member of the Teamsters Union Local #25 for the past 36 years and had worked as freight foreman for the Freeman Decorating Company of Avon. Robert loved music and had been a familiar face and talented musician playing the guitar, keyboard and singing backup for the popular band “Krush” and performing all over the South Shore area. He was an avid car fan and loved to “tinker” on his cars. He cherished the time spent with family, especially his four grandchildren whom he adored. In addition to his wife Kathleen he is survived by his children Margaret Pukt and her husband Christopher of East Bridgewater and Robert J. Toner, his brothers Frank Toner of Quincy and James Toner of Dorchester, his sister Helen Layden and her husband Gerard of Quincy, his father-in-law Robert O’Donnell and his wife Robin of Peabody, his mother-in-law Janice McLaughlin and her husband Bill of Middleton and his sister-in-law Kelly McMinis and her husband Lancer of Wells, Maine. He is also survived by his grandchildren Aaron James, Dylan James, Bradyn Lucas and Christopher Ryan, Jr. as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Toner. #KRUSHCANCER #TONERSTRONG His funeral service will be held Tuesday July 1 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) WHITMAN.
