Robert Samuel Webber

1948 - 2019

Robert Samuel Webber was reunited with his parents, Bert & Elwilda Webber and sister LaVada Kuffer Thursday, January 31st. Robert was born July 10, 1948 in Beulah, ND to Bert & Elwilda Webber, the youngest of seven children. He attended school in Beulah until the 4th grade when his family moved to Sidney, MT. He graduated from Sidney High School in 1966 and Western Montana College in 1970 with a degree in Industrial Arts. He married Theresa Stocks July 15, 1978, in Bozeman, MT.

Robert continued his college education earning a Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree from Montana State University in 1983. In 1985 Robert and Theresa welcomed their first child Nicole Jean, followed by Jeffrey Robert in 1987. Robert worked nearly forty years at Montana State University, first as a custodian and later as a HVAC Tech.

Robert was a good and honorable man, a wonderful husband and father. He took his commitments seriously and with much love. Many evening hours were spent helping his children with homework and reading to them, particularly The Nancy Drew series to his daughter, Nicole. He was involved in Boy Scouts and had many adventures with his son, Jeff through scouting. Robert loved the outdoors and was happiest being outside. He spent summer days working on his yard and summer nights gazing at the stars. He was a patient and meticulous man who delighted in fixing things and could always be counted on to help his neighbor. Each life comes with memorable occasions. For Robert, those were the births of his children and when his grandsons were placed in his arms. He had a kind and gentle soul.

In November 2018, he was diagnosed with brain cancer. Many thanks to all the medical and nursing staff who treated him with so much compassion and concern. He is survived by his wife Theresa; daughter Nicole & Darren Edwards, grandchildren Miles & Dillon Edwards of Bozeman and son Jeff Webber & Kim Schanz of Mays Landing, NJ. Surviving siblings include Judy Webber & Deb Davison of Amelia Island, FL; George & Nellie Webber of Pateros, WA; Janet Thompson, Jane & Dick Dodge and Larry & Karen Webber all of Sun City, AZ. He is also survived by Theresa's brothers and sisters; Vicky & Al Chaffey of Lolo, MT; Ken Stocks of Whitehall, MT; Terry Stocks of Kenai, AK; Cheryl White & Tammie Daniels of Superior, MT; Nancy & Mike Boldt of Gresham, OR; 22 nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and close friend Rose Raihl of Butte, MT; as well as his many kind colleagues from Montana State.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister LaVada, mother and father-in-law Ivan & Doris Stocks and sister-in-law Lillian Stocks.
