Muriel C. O'Dell

Muriel C. (Casey) O'Dell, 80, of Bristol, widow of John F. Jack O'Dell died on Friday (October 31, 2025) at home. Muriel was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on August 17, 1945 and was a daughter of the late Gerald and Marie Anita (Goguen) Casey. She moved with her family to the United States at age 6 and graduated from St. Ann Grammar School and Bristol High School. While her husband worked for United Technologies, she lived in various places including San Diego where she loved to live. She was a very athletic person who enjoyed line dancing. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, sightseeing, but most of all her family. She was once a Tupperware saleswoman, was a lifelong learner, always active, devoted to helping others. She was a parishioner of St. Matthew Church, Bristol. Muriel is survived by a son: John F. ODell of Bristol; a sister: Jeannette Varkal of Bristol; six grandchildren: Vivian O'Dell, Andrew O'Dell and wife, Jessenia, Bonita O'Dell, Matthew O'Dell and wife, Megan, Peter O'Dell, and Madeleine O'Dell; and a great-grandson: Kolton. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Jack, a son: Patrick O'Dell and a sister: Pauline Casey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (November 6, 2025) at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
