A. HILL Obituary

HILL - A. Betty Devoted Volunteer and Member of Eden United Methodist Church. December 16, 1931 - January 14, 2016. A. Betty Hill of Eden NY, died January 14th at Absolut Health Care in Eden, NY, after a long illness. Born in Buffalo, she was the former A. Betty Berkhoudt and was a 1949 graduate of South Park High School. The daughter of Alice Noxel Berkhoudt and Herman Berkhoudt (of Utrecht, Holland), she married William J. Hill in 1953. They lived in Aurora, CO and Buffalo, NY before moving to Eden in 1959. Mrs. Hill was a devoted member of the Eden United Methodist Church and served in numerous roles. She was also active in PAWNY (Pharmaceutical Association of Western NY) and was a tireless advocate for the disabled. Mrs. Hill was predeceased by her siblings: Herman "Bud" Berkhoudt, Joan Berkhoudt Sexton, John "Jack" Berkhoudt, and Roberta "Bobbi" Ward. Survivors include daughters, Cynthia (Dennis) Elbow of Warsaw, NY, Susan (Mark) Miller of Syracuse, NY; son, John William Hill of Blasdell, NY; grandson, Adam Hill Miller of Syracuse, NY; granddaughter, Lindsay D. Miller (Eric) Klaben of Westminster, CO; sisters-in-law, Doris Berkhoudt and Ethel Berkhoudt; brother-in-law, George Ward; seventeen nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and countless friends. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, January 19 at 11AM at Eden United Methodist Church, 2810 East Church Street, Eden, NY 14057. Flowers gratefully declined. I met this sweet Lady and Her husband a short time ago, and fell in love immediately. I will miss her but know that she is with Jesus. I pray for Peace and comfort for her family and especially for her husband Bill. Together they were quite a team. So glad to have known this precious Lady.
