Edward Skibinski Obituary

Skibinski, Edward E.

June 6, 1944 - February 9, 2024

age 79, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024. Ed, president of the Local Laundry Workers Union Local 168-39. His first union involvement began in 1961 when he took a job at the old Frontier Linen. He worked there for 20 years. In 1981 he became a business agent for the Local 168-39, from Buffalo through Syracuse areas. In 1996 he was elected president of the Local. He continued to work as a business agent until retirement in 2003. He retired as the head of the Local 168-39. Edward was an advanced class HAM radio operator. He was great with a camera and took beautiful pictures. He also loved volleyball. Loving husband of 44 years to Lynn D. Skibinski. Son of the late Josephine Mills. Edward was an animal lover and had many Labrador Retrievers throughout his years. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Fretthold and Hamp Funeral Home, located at 37 Adam Street, in Tonawanda, on February 14, from 4pm - 7pm. Interment at Elmlawn Cemetery on February 15th, at 10am. In lieu of sending flowers please make donations to the SPCA Serving Erie County or to the American Lung Association. Condolences may be shared at FrettholdandHamp.com.
