Dear family, My sincere condolences. Mr. Farley was one of my teachers at SVHS. We had a stormy relationship that we reconciled as he pinned a rose on my lapel on graduation night. Many years later we bumped into each other at McDonalds in Amherst and reminisced our past. We were friends.(Class of "62)

To Jim's family,
It was with especially great sadness that I learned of Jim's passing
today. We were colleagues for many years at City Honors and developed a lasting friendship that continued until recently. He was a great educator, professional and thoughtful with staff and students, and a wonderfully learned man. He cherished his family and loved his trips to California to visit them. In his retired years
we continued to send each other notes and holiday cards, keeping each other caught up on our goings on. I will miss his smile and laughter, his quick wit and his dogged defense of what is right, no matter the consequences. He taught me how to be a good administrator and a better educator. May he rest in peace.
