Katherine "Kay" FARMAR

FARMAR - Katherine "Kay" (nee Downing) Age 80, passed away peacefully at her Ballston Lake, NY home on April 28th 2011. Born on August 6, 1930 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Mae E. (McCarthy) Downing. She was the wife of the late Raymond T, Farmar. Katherine was formerly a resident of Bristol, Wisconsin and Kenmore, NY. She was a Driver's Education teacher for 20 years throughout Western New York. She was a graduate of Mt. St. Mary's Academy and Stella Niagara. She was the loving mother of Mary Jo (William) Liston of Ballston Lake, Michelle (Michael) Wall of Batavia, IL, Michael (Susan) Farmar of Kenmore, NY and Maureen (Donald) Johnson of Bristol, WI; devoted sister of the Late Leo J. (Patricia) Downing and sister-in-law of the Late Joanne Downing, Kirk (Barbara) Downing of Tonawanda, NY; cherished grandmother of Shannon (Michael) Rector, Ryan (Cheryl) Liston, Christina (Bruce) Kowalski, Alicia Farmar, Katherine, Elizabeth and Michael F. Wall, Brian and Casey Johnson; and the great-grandmother of Brianna Liston, and Riley Kowalski. All her favorite people called her "Nana". A Private Family Service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kenmore, NY 14217.
