Ralph Stango Obituary

Ralph Stango
Mt. Laurel - Ralph F. Stango of Mt. Laurel died Sunday, April 4, 2021. He was born in Philadelphia, in 1930, to Ralph and Madeline Stango. His family moved to Devon PA in 1942. Ralph married his high school sweetheart, Virginia DeFelice in 1954 and moved to Paoli. Ralph was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army Signal Corps. He worked in construction as an Operator Engineer for over 20 years. He also worked for Mobil Oil Auto Dynastic Center, was transferred to the West Coast, and after two years was transferred back to Delran NJ where they lived for over 35 years. He opened a service station in Cinnaminson, NJ and then in Cherry Hill, NJ. They moved to Mt. Laurel in 1994 where they resided for over 25 years.
After retiring, he worked doing anything as long as he was working with wood, making all types of furniture and repairing and refinishing. He got the name "Dr. Sawdust" because of his woodworking skills.
Ralph was an active member, since 1953, in the Knights of Columbus, recently at Our Lady Queen of Peace Counsel in Hainesport NJ.
Ralph loved to play and collect chess sets, many times hearing him cussing at the computer screen because he lost another game.
His family was his first and greatest love, particularly spending time with his wife, daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anytime spent with them was a joy.
Beloved husband of 66 years to Virginia Stango, loving father of Cynthia A. (the late William Beattie), cherished grandfather of Shanna (Colin) O'Donnell, Kaitlyn (Steven) Wisniewski, Great Grandfather of Rian, Brendan, Dillon, Kieran O'Donnell and Wesley and Levi Wisniewski. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ralph's Memorial Mass Wednesday, April 14th, 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 1603 Marne Highway Hainesport, NJ 08036.
Military Honors will follow after Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church.
