MARGARET MARY "MARGE" MAYNARD - EAST FAIRFIELD - Margaret Mary "Marge" Maynard, age 81, passed away Monday morning, March 30, 2015, in the St. Albans Health & Rehab Facility with her loving family at her side. She was born March 28, 1934, in Flint Hill, Mo., the daughter of the late Hubert and Hulda (Freymuth) Niederer. Marge attended St. Theodore Elementary School where she participated in most of the church and town functions. She graduated from Wentzville High School as Valedictorian of her class, participating in athletics and many choral groups. Marge was the happiest when she was around her family and friends. She worked in St. Louis, Mo., doing office work, then as a payroll clerk in a garment factory in Wentzville. On June 18, 1955, she was joined in marriage at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Flint Hill, Mo., to John Maynard of Bakersfield, Vt. In July 1958, they moved to Bakersfield to raise their family and from 1969 to 1984, Marge and John, along with their five children, owned and operated Maynard's Market in East Fairfield. Later, she worked as Postmaster Replacement in East Fairfield for 14 years. Marge was a member of St. Anthony/ St. Georges Catholic Church in East Fairfield and the St. Anthony Rosary Society. Marge is survived by her husband, John Maynard of East Fairfield; children and their families, Doug Maynard and wife, Donna, of East Fairfield, and their children, Trevor and wife, Jenny, Chris and wife, Leah, their children, Noah and Calvin, and Shana Elwood and husband, Adam, and their children, Andrew and Abygail; Debbie Maynard-Page and husband, Michael Page, of East Fairfield; Don Maynard of Greensboro Bend, his children, Brian and Victoria, and Victoria's son, Grayson; Dan Maynard and wife, Patti, of Crozet, Va., and their children, Samantha and Jack; and Denise Bordo and husband, Scott, of Enosburg Falls, and their children, Gregg and Liza; sister, Genevieve Sherman and husband, William, of Flint Hill, Mo.; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Leona Niederer of Flint Hill, Mo., Norman Sleeper of St. Johnsbury, and William Maynard and wife, Kathy, of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Marge was predeceased by three infant children, Joseph, Mary, and Margaret; siblings and their spouses, Rose and Clarence Schulte, Joseph and Violet Niederer, Gregory and Mary Emma Niederer, Ethel and Gerald Briley, Kenneth Niederer, and Raymond and Alice Niederer; sisters -in-law and their husbands, Marjorie and Lesley Bullis, Blanche and Landon Gelbar, Rhoda and Neil McGinn, Marie Sleeper, and Pauline and Bernard Tanner. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at 1 p.m. at St. Anthony/St. Georges Catholic Church, 9491 VT Route 36, East Fairfield, with the Rev. William Giroux and the Rev. Roger Charbonneau con-celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held later this spring in St. Georges Cemetery in Bakersfield. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
