Sammie Bizzell Obituary
Sammie Cox Bizzell was born on March 3, 1943 in Levelland, Texas. At an early age, she and her family moved to a ranch in Burnet County.
Sammie met Don Bizzell in the summer of 1955 at a grocery store in Burnet. They dated throughout high school and were married on September 18, 1961. They shared 64 wonderful years together.
Sammie was a biblical example of a devoted wife and mother. Her faith, kindness, and love for her family were evident in everything she did.
She was preceded in death by her parents, T.G. and Marjorie Cox, sister, Barbara Faris and by her son, Kendall Bizzell.
She is survived by her husband, Don Bizzell, her daughter, Kayla Bizzell (James), her two children, Rylan Smith (Brianna), and Grayson Smith (Emily), Kendall's wife (Hyla), and three children, Amanda Bizzell, Adam Bizzell (Laken), and Aaron Bizzell. She is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Georgia Smith, brother, Joey Cox (Vicki), sister, Cheryl Howell, brother-in-law, Bud Faris, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sammie found joy and fulfillment in a lifetime of creativity that enriched her home and church family. A skilled quilter, gardener, and cook, she poured love and artistry into everything she made-from heirloom quilts and blooming gardens to hearty meals and handmade gifts. Her gardens bloomed with vibrant flowers and bountiful vegetables, a living canvas tended with loving care. Her talent and generosity left a legacy of beauty, warmth, and cherished treasures for all who knew her.
Sammie's love for turquoise jewelry reflected her free spirit and connection to the Southwest's beauty. Each piece, whether a cherished heirloom or artisan find, mirrored her artistic personality and added beauty to every outfit.
