Edgar Ferrer

1950 - 2022

Edgar Ferrer, 71, of Penn Township, died on Jan. 5, 2022.
Born May 11, 1950, in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Jose and Rosa Vega Ferrer.
He was the beloved husband for 48 years of Barbara Reese Ferrer.
He was the loving father of Shawn Ferrer, Katie (Bill) Doerr and the late Nicholas Ferrer.
He was the brother of Lilly Torres, Richie (Pam) Medina, Albert (Lynn) Medina and the late Frank Medina.
He was the dear "Pappy" of Hunter Ferrer and Billy Doerr; and was the son-in-law of Catherine Reese.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Ed was a devoted member and elder of Bakerstown Alliance Church.
He was a legend in his own time, giving his time, energy and love to help others from fixing something, to teaching someone - and just being present in so many lives.
Ed loved fiercely and this showed through anything and everyone he touched in his life. Ed showed great love when he would take mission trips to Honduras and lead others through his faith.
He enjoyed hunting with his friends and family, and was a member of American Legion Post 778, Lyndora. Ed was tremendously loved by countless friends and family, especially his grandchildren, who were his world.
FERRER - Friends of Edgar Ferrer, who died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bakerstown Alliance Church, 4030 Bakerstown Road, Gibsonia.
Interment will follow in Bakerstown Cemetery.
