Kerry Haner Obituary

Kerry N. Haner, 59, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2005. Kerry was born on January 12, 1946 to William and Kitty Haner. His accomplishments were as great as they were many as were all the lives he touched. Kerry started his scholastic career in Pasadena, Texas where he taught math. From there he moved to Pearland to become a high school math teacher, then moving to become an assistant principal, and on to the curriculum office. After 20+ years of service in Pearland he took the principal's position at Sinton High School. After serving the community of Sinton as the principal, Rotary Club member, and member of the Chamber of Commerce, he took the principal's position at H. M. King High School in Kingsville. In the community of Kingsville he was an active member of the Rotary Club, an active parishioner and Senior Warden of the Church of the Epiphany. He was also named top principal for Region II.Kerry was preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col. William Haner. He is survived by his children, Kerry Haner, Marc Haner, and Erik Haner; his mother, Kitty Haner; two brothers, Mike Haner and Billy Haner, and his grandson, Kiel Haner, as well as the numerous friends whose lives he touched. He will be greatly missed by all.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at H. M. King High School Auditorium. A reception will follow at the First United Methodist Church in Kingsville.
