Ofelia C. Ybanez, age 88, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Ofelia was born on October 6, 1929. She enjoyed participation in being a home provider helping the elderly and being a friend. Her hobbies were working on her garden of roses and plants. Ofelia will be remembered by her love of laughter and warm heart. She is finally pain-free and rejoiced with the heavenly angels. Ofelia was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Ruben G. Ybanez Sr.
Ofelia is survived by her 3 children Ruben Ybanez Jr. (Senaida), Ofelia Garcia and Ofilia Carter; 6 grandchildren, Ruben Ybanez III, John Patrick Garcia, Samantha Ybanez, Andrew Garza, Sarah Garcia, Aaron Garza and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Retama Manor and Spohn Shoreline Hospital for the care given to Ofelia C. Ybanez.
