Edward Mills Obituary
Age 61, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, surrounded by
those he loved most. Eddie, as he was known to his family, was born on Nov. 21, 1953, in Beckley, W.Va., to Phyllis and Lampkin Mills. Ed graduated from Massillon High School in 1971. After graduation, he married the love of his life, Vicki, on Aug. 3, 1973; and joined the United States Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged as Staff Sargent in 1981. After leaving the Air Force, he used his self-taught skills to do many jobs, including, but not limited to: certified electrician, carpentry, construction, and mechanics. He retired from Summit Plastics in 2012, where he was the Head Maintenance Supervisor for 25 years. He was a member of the Canton Chapter of the DAV and American Legion Post 44. Ed had the ability to make friends wherever he went and was loved and respected by many. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved taking his wife out on his Harley, going wherever the road took them. Those who were fortunate enough to know him, know how blessed they are to have him in their lives. He was a considerate, compassionate, very funny, and intelligent person who was always willing to help someone in need and in return, never expected anything. Ed, Eddy, Honey, Dad, Papaw; is loved by many and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Mills of Coal City, W.Va.; brother, Wendell (Lucy) Mills of Coal City, W.Va.; wife of 41 years, Vicki; daughters, Mistie (Bruce), Farrah (Kevin) and Brady (Scott); his pride and joys: grandchildren, Dylan, Cole, Marissa, AJ, Maddie, and Logan; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Lampkin Mills; father-in-law, John Hahs; mother-in-law, Marjorie Hahs; a son; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, from 5-7 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 7 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. It was Ed's wish to be cremated and inurnment will take place at Sunset Hills Burial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (dav.org) Those wishing to share their condolences may do so at:

I miss and luv u u r my hero...growing up I always wanted to be like u. I still do. So many people lost out when u breathed your last breath on this earth. The world is a bleak place. I will forever remember staying up w u eating crabs, watching gone w the wind, playing b ball the day my ligament ripped ...the time w u was worth it.. the steam rolls, u carrying me in the house while I pretended to be sleeping on the way home from grandma and grandpa's, house he barbecues , fishing, u answering my constant questions as a kid, giving u mani pedis, our trip to Disney, Madeira beach, driving to Tennessee u n me, motorcycle ride, hanging w u, father daughter talks, you being silly w mom, you being so silly ...all of our world Me mom sisters and your grandkids has been devastated with your passing...buddy's too. We miss u saying your goofy catch phrases, tinkering in your basement or garage, spoiling your grandkids, and still having a little room to spoil your daughters, turning your music up so we all could hear, still asking you all kinds of questions to pic your brain, u n kevy talking sports..he loves u so much..We all do. U taught me how to be a kind caring compassionate person. you never were showy or fake. U kept it real and personal. U are loved and missed by so many and WE WILL FOREVER LOVE N MISS U TERRIBLY.
