Nancy Deitz Obituary
'Ant Nan'
Age 56, of Uniontown, passed away early Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born Sept. 20, 1955, in Canton, to Lu (Baker) Deitz of Uniontown and the late Thomas W. Deitz.
Surviving besides her mother is her sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Evan Shumway, of Canton; her brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Leanne Deitz, of Massillon; three nieces and a nephew, Ashley (Dale) Rios, of Toledo, Ryan (Emily) Shumway, of Bridgeport, Conn., and Lauren and Audra Deitz, of Massillon. True joy came into Nancy's life with the birth of her first niece, making her 'Ant Nan' which was her license plate for many years. She loved her nieces and nephew and gave them many years of joy because of the loving person that she was to them. Everyone knew her as 'Ant Nan'. She was also known for her many years as a waitress at Kurt's Inn and Lucia's. Her humor brought lots of laughter to a lot of people. Nancy was the waitress that served an excellent meal, but when you left the restaurant you felt like you had been to dinner and a show. Nancy was a graduate of Hoover High School class of 1974.
A Memorial Service will be held at NewPointe Community Church, 5305 Broadmoor Circle NW, Canton, on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dwight Mason officiating. The family will begin receiving guests at 10 a.m. A luncheon will be held at The Chapel in North Canton, 715 Whittier Ave. NW, North Canton immediately following the service. Friends are invited to share this time with her family as they celebrate her life.

To Jon, Susan, and your Families. I am sorry to hear about Nancy's passing...I learned of it only a couple of days ago. I never had the privilege of knowing Nancy but what little time I spent with her at the reunion last year in OH, she made me laugh! She shared a few stories from my young life that I have no memory of...she made me feel like I fit right in with everyone! She is in a better place...I pray that God gives each of you peace in your heart during this time of mourning. I love you guys!

To the Deitz Family, Nancy and I were best friends ,I was her room mate for a while. We worked together and just had a wonderful time. I hadn't seen her for a few years, I moved to Fl. Nancy was so funny and always brightened up every one's life.Nancy was one of a kind.Her family was great and I am so sorry for their loss. You are all in my prayers. God Bless and comfort you .

I knew Nancy when she worked at Kurt's Inn, and I ran the other half the resturants in Canton. We had some great times together and lots of fun's.
I am truly sorry to hear of Nancy's passing.

Dear Aunt Lu, Sue, Jon & families,
You have my deepest sympathy. Nancy was a wonderful part of my life. My four children knew Nancy as their babysitter and friend. She was my best friend for many years. She actually introduced me to my 2nd husband. We worked together at Packard's. I bathed her when she got burned. I could write a book about the memories Nancy and I made. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. You have been like family since the early 70's. We will all miss Nancy and her smile.

I was shocked to read that Nancy had passed...I am so sorry for your loss. Nancy and I were friends many years ago and unfortunately hadn't see each other in quite some time.
