Paul N. Aslanides 1928 - 2017
age 89 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017. He was born in Melanthio, Greece on February 5, 1928 to the late Nick and Maroula Aslanides. Paul served as a Lieutenant in the Greek Army. He came to America in 1955, and was employed by the Timken Company for 37 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, where he was an honorary member of the church board; he was a 50 year member of the AHEPA Chapter 59, the Pontian Club and Senior Citizens of the Church. Paul became Man of the Year in 1996 and was involved with the Grecian Festival for numerous years.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Dimitrios Aslanides. Paul is survived by his wife Mary; children Roula (Tim) Stern of Massillon, Pan (Cheryl) Aslanides of Louisville and Tom Aslanides of Canton; five grandchildren Sam and Alex (Lori) Stern, Paul and Steven Aslanides, and Elizabeth Aslanides. Also survived by great-granddaughter Ada Grace Stern; sister Ann Simionides of Louisville; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, with Trisagion services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church, with Rev. Daniel Rogich as celebrant, preceded by an hour of calling hours from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
