Charles Price Obituary

PRICE, CHARLES GORDON "HUMMER" passed away Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011, at his home in Lynbrook, Brooklyn Park, MD. He owned and operated the family business of 50 years, "Price's Seafood Carry Out", at Potee & Talbott St., Brooklyn, MD for over 20 years, after his father's death.

He is the dearly loved son of Julia L. Price and the late Charles F. Price, the loving father of Keith Daniel Price and Grace M. Price, the much loved brother of Linda Zelubowski (Brian), Cathy Moon (Bobby), and Ann Gunning-Superson (John). He is the God-child of Catherine and the late Joseph Claytor, God-father of Kristie Barnes, Rebecca Moon, and Melanie Gunning and has many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

Services were held at Gonce's Funeral Home by Father Joe O'Mera and Father Mike Orchik formerly from St. Rose of Lima Church, 4th & Jeffery St., Brooklyn, Md. The 9 o'clock Mass, Sunday, November 27th, was dedicated to the memory of Charles "Hummer" Price, by Father Bill Viola at St. Joseph Church in Odenton, MD.

Hummer graduated from St. Rose of Lima School in Brooklyn, MD and Mt. Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore, MD. He was employed at Westinghouse for fifteen years, Air Freight Plus, Inc., for two years and most recently Severn Electric, Inc., in Severn, MD. Hummer loved crabbing, fishing, hunting, bowling, and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens, Orioles and the Maryland Terps. Hummer was buried next to his father, his best friend, at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn Park, MD where he is resting in peace. He will be greatly missed by his loving mother, siblings, his children, relatives, friends and neighbors.

In memory of Hummer, an Educational Fund has been established for his daughter, Grace, and will be managed by his son Keith. Keith can be contacted at [email protected].
