I'm not sure if this page is still active, but I only learned of it from Roger Pierce (from Cheverly) today.
Norman, Jimmy, and Weezie (those are the names I remember from the Cheverly days): Your father (and your mother) were exceptional people. The very definition of "game."
I remember the Cacapon trip especially vividly. That was the trip that went down in Stewart lore as one disaster after another. What I remember as so remarkable was Jimmy's two thumbs up at the end.
I also have (I believe) a picture of either Jimmy or Norman in a cave. Yet another "challenging" trip, for everyone, at least, other than a Holcombe.
.
The Holcombe boys were legendary in our family for toughness. The apples didn't fall far from the parental tree.
I hope all is well with all of you!
