Joanne Rowe Hillary

Joanne Coleman Rowe Hillary, age 81, of Union Bridge, MD, passed from this life on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Carroll Hospital Center, surrounded by her family and close friends. Born December 31, 1941 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph P. Coleman, Sr. and Geraldine A. (Grossnickle) Coleman. Joanne graduated from Western High School in Washington, DC. She worked for the Department of the Navy before moving to Union Bridge. She was also an employee of Carroll Gardens in Westminster for many years. She was a special lady, known for her beautiful voice, kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family and sharing her love of music through songs. She was an avid Washington Football fan. Gardening was a happy pastime for Joanne growing many beautiful flowers and herbs. She had a special place in her heart for all animals, especially dogs and cats. Joanne was a member of the Uniontown United Methodist Church. Joanne was predeceased by her husbands, William M. Rowe and Leroy Hillary. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Crystal (Rowe) Dykhoff and husband Travis, and her two grandson, Easton and Beckett, who were the joy of her life. Joanne is also survived by her brothers, Joseph P. Coleman, Jr. (Judy) and John A. Coleman, Sr. and many nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9 at 2 p.m. at Uniontown United Methodist Church, 3405 Uniontown Road, Westminster, MD 21158. Pastor Darrell Davis will officiate. Her family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Saturday.
