Clifford Stearns Obituary
Cliff was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire. He married his wife, Hoppy, in 1979, and that same year they purchased their family farm, Whizard's Lair Farm.
Cliff worked many jobs in his lifetime, including: training Standardbred Racehorses; driving the Budweiser Clydesdales; moving houses; dredging; and installing Geotextile tubes. He also had a Pilot's license.
Cliff enjoyed foxhunting but, his favorite time of the year was always deer season. A boisterous man with a keen sense of fashion and a larger than life personality, Cliff will always be remembered for his love of joking and laughing with his family and friends.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Elise duPont Stearns; daughter, Winter N. Paxson and her husband, Greg; sons: Simon Stearns; Hunter Stearns; five grandchildren, with one on the way; uncle, Gilbert H. Norris; LOVING mother, Helen Stearns; and LOVING sister, Caroline Stearns.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in Cliff's honor can be made payable to "River Hills Foxhounds" and sent care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

Dear Hoppy and family- very sad to learn Cliff has passed away. Whenever I bumped into him through the decades- we always enjoyed a lively exchange and he liked to get caught up on "anything travel". Cliff was always warm and generous with his time-----my heart goes out to everyone.

Hoppy and family... So sorry to hear of Cliff's passing. Albie and I have so many wonderful memories and some very funny stories of Cliff. So very glad we had the opportunity to have know Cliff! He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many. Thoughts ANd Prayers Are With You And Family.

I am so sorry about Clifford's untimely death. I have known him for many decades! I first met him riding his horse, Whizard, bareback with a halter and shank. He was in the valley up in Gum Tree. What a character he was!! He was always full of energy and full of himself!! He will truly be missed. I am extremely glad that our paths crossed. May he RIP.
