rural Bellefonte, Pennsylvania - Dorothy L. Owens Barndt Rockey, 89 of rural Bellefonte went to be with her
Lord and Savior at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Dorothy was born in Axemann (Spring Twp.), Centre Co. on March 19, 1932, the daughter of the late Jerry and Jennie Stover Owens. On December 3, 1949 she married Jack Barndt who preceded her in death on August 11, 2002. On February 16, 2008 she married Donald E. Rockey who preceded her in death on January 7, 2015. She is survived by her daughters, Lola (Rick) McCloskey of Clarence, Pamela (Thomas) Jimeson of State College, Cora (Danny) Cain of Howard, Emma (Ken) Leh of Boyertown, Annette (George) Landry of Stallings, NC, Jody (Andy) Johnson of Bellefonte; her sons, John (Kerry) Barndt of Port Matilda, Paul (Valerie) Barndt of Columbia, SC and Jack Barndt of Driftwood. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Homan of Milesburg, Jane Miller of Centre Hall, Shirley Kelly of Bellefonte, 23 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by her four sisters, Esther Klinefelter, Elizabeth Runkle, Cora Emberton, Nancy Martin and her five brothers, William, Joe, Paul, Dean and Jerry Owens. Dorothy was a member and Deaconess at the Milesburg God's Missionary Church. She worked at Erie Tech and Centre Engineering and later served as a school van driver. She enjoyed playing guitar, singing with her family at nursing homes and at God's Missionary
Church. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, flower gardening and baking.
Family and friends will be received at the God's Missionary Church, 219 Old 220 Road, Milesburg on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from noon until 1 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM with Pastors Fred Bennett and Ken Walter officiating. We will be following CDC recommendations, facial coverings will be required and social distancing is encouraged. Burial will be in Advent Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Centre Co., PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the God's Missionary Church, 219 Old 220 Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823 in memory of Dorothy Rockey. The family would like to thank Eagle Valley Personal Care Home for the excellent care they gave to Dorothy.
