Lock Haven, Pennsylvania - Mary L. "Ping" Harter, 77 of Lock Haven, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at her home. She was born on December 25, 1944, in Lock Haven, the daughter of the late Frank & Nancy J. Caprio Ruggiers.
She was a 1958 graduate of St. Agnes Middle School and a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School class of 1963.
On January 17, 1964 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Kenneth R. Harter he preceded her in death on December 1, 2007. She and Kenny were blessed to have spent over 43 years together. Ping began her working years at the Millheim Hosiery Mill. She would go on to work at Penns Valley Area High School and Lock Haven University as Head Cook as well as Camp Woodward. She was a supervisor for Woolrich for many years.
Mary enjoyed crocheting, bingo, sudoku, lifetime and hallmark movies, playing cards, cooking, baking and sharing recipes with her friends. She loved listening to her grandchildren. She loved bragging and showing pictures of her grandkids to her friends. She loved socializing and always looked forward to spending time with her Caprio aunts and uncles.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin L. (Lisa) of Zion and Chris (Lindsey) Harter of Nittany, two daughters, Bobbie Jo (Robert) Seyler of Nittany and Tammy (Tim) Meyer also of Nittany, one sister, Rose Ann "Babe" Hughes of Lock Haven, six grandchildren, Colleen & Tanya Harter, Alyssa (Doug) Hanna, Matthew (Averie Pringle) Seyler, Colin and Claire Harter and one great-grandson, Mason Hanna. She was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Joseph Ruggiers.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard, with Rev. Kathleen Danley officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be at the Evangelical Cemetery, Rebersburg.
