Charlotte, North Carolina - Bobby Reginald Miller, 82, of Charlotte NC, died on December 5, 2023, at Atrium Health Pineville. Mr. Miller was born in Winston-Salem, NC, to Robert Weldon Miller and Gladys Williams Miller, both of whom predeceased him.

Mr. Miller graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem where he was a proud member of the 1958 state co-champion Demon football team. He graduated cum laude from Wake Forest College (now University), where he was a Dean's List Scholar, was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society and received the Alpha Kappa Psi and Delta Sigma Pi scholarship medals. He was Senior Vice President of Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity.

Most of Mr. Miller's business career was with the then-Celanese Corporation, where he held human resources positions in both Carolinas, Ohio, New Jersey, and New York City., The Millers moved to Charlotte in 1984, to Union County in 2001, and to The Cypress of Charlotte in 2016. Mr. Miller's civic activities in Charlotte included serving as chairman of the local Urban League and being an inaugural appointee to the police Citizens Review Board, which he also chaired.

Post-retirement, Mr. Miller indulged a long-held interest in writing, serving as a community columnist for the Charlotte Observer and self-publishing a book entitled "Religions, Sects, & Cults; a Primer for the Lay Person".

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, the former Sylvia Sampson Miller; his daughter Tracy M. Lewkowiez (Eric) of Evans, GA; his son Todd W. Miller (Jennifer) of Charlotte, and grandchildren Aaron and Nicole Lewkowiez and Brooke Miller.

Memorials may be made to Hillsdale College, College of the Ozarks, and/or The Heritage Foundation.
